Why We’re Pressing Pause on Egg Sales—But Not on Progress

Why We’re Pressing Pause on Egg Sales—But Not on Progress

If you’ve noticed a gap on our shelves or at Myriad Organics lately, you’re not alone—we’ve had lots of questions about why Planton Farm eggs are suddenly difficult to find. We wanted to share the story behind this pause, and why it’s actually a sign of progress for hens, the land, and the whole food system we’re working to change.

Regeneration Isn’t Always a Straight Path

Thanks to new funding, we’re able to take the next big step with our Impeckable Poultry Project—an initiative dedicated to developing chickens that fit a truly regenerative future: dual-purpose birds who can lay eggs and be reared for meat, helping the industry move away from intensive, one-use poultry models.

The really exciting news is that we’ve “cracked” Brothers Raised Too eggs—meaning our approach to raising both male and female chicks is working. Rather than seeing the brothers as a by-product, we’re giving them meaningful lives and a proper place in the food system.

Why the Sudden Egg Shortage?

Because our hens are dual-purpose, egg numbers naturally fluctuate—and right now, that means we simply can’t guarantee regular supply. Instead of overpromising or compromising our standards, we’ve decided to pause egg sales at Myriad Organics and other stockists for the time being.

For now, any eggs we do have will be available at our farm gate for locals who want to stop by—they’ll be truly fresh and truly limited!

A Crucial Milestone, Not the End

Though it feels bittersweet to put a pause on broader egg sales just as we’re gaining momentum, it’s important to celebrate that we’ve proven this regenerative model can work. We’re keen to talk to others who are interested in Brothers Raised Too eggs and the future of ethical poultry in the UK.

Keep the Conversation Going

If you’re curious to know more about our work, have questions about our food, or just miss our eggs, we’d love to hear from you. Your support and feedback are what keeps us moving forward—egg by egg, step by step.

Thank you for standing with us as we build a food system that respects animals, farmers, and the land. We’re not just pausing egg sales; we’re cracking open a new chapter in regenerative farming.
