Introducing Our Beef: Regeneratively Raised, Pasture for Life Certified

At Planton Farm, our beef is more than just food—it’s a commitment to regeneration, animal welfare, and your well-being. We are proud to be Pasture for Life certified, ensuring our cattle are 100% pasture-fed—never given grains—and raised in harmony with nature.

Regeneration at the Heart

Our Aberdeen Angus herd thrives on diverse, nutrient-rich pastures, thanks to holistic planned grazing (also known as Adaptive Multi-Paddock Grazing). This approach maximises land rest, encourages biodiversity, and builds soil health—creating a resilient ecosystem from the ground up.

Our herd lives together as a single family group, with calves remaining alongside their mothers and the wider herd. We do not practice forced weaning; instead, calves are allowed to wean naturally, supporting animal welfare and natural social bonds.

During winter, we practice bale grazing outdoors for as long as possible, feeding homegrown hay in a way that nourishes both cattle and soil. When the land becomes too wet, our cattle are housed for a short period and fed only hay and silage produced right here—keeping our nutrient cycle closed and transparent.

Our herd is carefully selected for regenerative genetics, ensuring they are well-suited to our farming system and the unique landscape of Shropshire. We are certified with OF&G and proud partners in the Shropshire Good Food Partnership.

The Regenerative Health Advantage

As members of the Nutrient Density Alliance, we know that beef from animals raised on 100% pasture and regeneratively managed land is packed with health benefits:

  • Higher omega-3 fatty acids and a better omega-6:omega-3 ratio, supporting heart health
  • Elevated conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), linked to anti-inflammatory and metabolic benefits
  • More fat-soluble vitamins A & E, iron, and antioxidants—including phytochemicals, terpenoids, and polyphenols—to support immune function and reduce chronic disease risk

These nutrients are a direct result of our living soils and diverse pastures—a true soil-to-fork story that benefits both the land and your health.

Proof in Outcomes

We don’t just talk about regeneration—we measure it. Each year, we undergo Ecological Outcome Verification surveys, and our Ecological Health Index continues to improve, demonstrating real, positive change on our farm.
